My 28-day total body cleanse (Mind, Body, Spirit)
In early 2016, I discovered the remarkable book, Medical Medium by Anthony William. The book reveals the root causes of diseases and conditions that medical communities either misunderstand or struggle to understand at all. It explores all-natural solutions for dozens of the illnesses that plague us. It’s also a guidebook for everyone seeking the secrets to living longer, healthier lives. The spiritual title drew me in and I became fascinated with Antony’s story of how he became a medium. He was born with the unique ability to converse with high-level spirits who provide him with extraordinarily accurate health information. Intriguing! In the book, he spoke about how important it is to keep the body free from toxins to prevent disease. He recommended by starting the process with a 28-day healing cleanse. It was then that I decided to begin my own 28-day cleanse challenge.
I honestly didn’t know if I was disciplined enough to complete the cleanse, or even make it pass the first week. I thought about all the things I was going to have to give up; coffee, sugar, gluten, meat, cooked food, basically every thing except fruits and vegetables. At that moment I realized I needed to let go of the attachments I have with certain foods, it was so hard but I knew the cleanse was going to help me with that. I was completely ready for the journey!
I knew I needed support so I told family, friends, and colleagues about my new health journey. The feedback was so encouraging that I felt inspired to follow through. I also joined the Medical Medium Facebook group for moral support, which helped tremendously. The first few days of the cleanse were admittedly hard. I felt light-headed, bloated, and tired, but knowing I was supposed to feel that way I didn’t panic. I knew the cleanse was working. Day 5 was when I started to feel like my energy level was back to normal. I noticed I didn’t have headaches, didn’t feel bloated. I’ve always had good skin, but I noticed the texture of my skin felt smoother, brighter, and more radiant, in only the first week! For the next three weeks I added salt baths, yoga, massage, and acupuncture to help with the elimination of toxins. It’s really important to take care of the body and the mind while cleansing because our body is working extra hard to eliminate toxins that have been accumulating over the years.
It’s been 2 weeks since I completed my detox and I have continued eating mostly fruits and veggies. I started to slowly add protein, starch, very little dairy, seeds, and nuts back into my food. I have reset my system and healthy eating habits and feel transformed.
What I learned throughout my transformation and overall experience while on the cleanse are:
I was able to inspire others to take control of their health
Cleansing helped me to structure my schedule and make workout and eating healthy a priority.
I started to see my body as an art- an expression of me. I became more in tune with my body. I’m much stronger, flexible. I move with awareness. I became whole (mind, body, spirit)
When you’re disciplined in one area of your life, things in other areas fall into place and miracles start to happen.
I felt a renewed sense of drive and focus. I got a lot of mental clarity.
I felt energized and vibrant.
I got on the path of making smarter choices in terms of food so I can have a sustainable healthy lifestyle.
Because I have seen it in my own personal health journey, I fully believe that the process of cleansing is my most valuable healing tool. When I’m working with clients I usually recommend doing a cleanse based on plant foods as they are full of enzymes and fiber making them easier on the digestion. Also fruits and vegetables have high water content, which helps the body flush out toxins and unwanted waste. I am so grateful to have found this book, completed this challenge which for me has become a new way of life and most importantly I feel amazing!
Wishing you health and happiness
Xx
